G. Emanuel Pelote

I lead communications, strategy, and technology work. For seven years I was the senior communications leader for an organization of 5.6 million people across twelve countries, working with colleagues at every level of it. Alongside that, since 1997, I have run a consulting practice that solves problems resisting ordinary answers.

Selected Work

Campaigns, publications,
and institutional voice.

A selection of work produced across print, broadcast, and digital, in three languages and twelve countries.

KenyaStrong national campaign
KenyaStrong

A national public-health campaign developed in partnership with the Executive Office of the President of Kenya and the National Gender and Equality Commission, addressing maternal health and family wellbeing. My role was the brand strategy, campaign concept, messaging, and the radio and print advertising.

Strategy

Direction that reaches
the ground.

Most strategies are sound on paper and never arrive anywhere. The work worth doing is the part that follows: building the integration and accountability that carries a strategy into daily operations, at every level of an organization.

3.6–5.6M

Membership growth over seven years across twelve countries, through the shared effort of teams at every level, and without a corresponding increase in budget.

13

Regional communications operations brought together under one voice, one standard, and a shared editorial direction.

1,200%

Growth in digital audience in a single year, alongside the launch of the region's first live broadcast capability.

Results that speak for themselves, achieved with others.

Intelligent Design Systems

When failure is
not an option.

Founded in 1997, Intelligent Design Systems works with organizations across business, government, healthcare, education, legal, and the nonprofit sector on operations, process improvement, data, and applied AI. We deliver on time, on budget, and with refreshing excellence, on the engagements where getting it right is not optional.

A system replacement under deadline

A multinational scholarly organization needed to replace core, mission-critical systems facing a hard obsolescence deadline. We analyzed both the systems and the business processes behind them, and delivered a replacement in under six months, well ahead of a deadline five years in the making. The organization still runs it today.

A global platform at national scale

A multinational organization was building a campaign intended to reach one billion people, with real challenges across design, internationalization, backend technology, and service partners that would not integrate with one another. We built a proprietary platform and the process around it, delivering a single seamless interface across multiple languages and scripts, on time and under budget.

Mission Priority International

Hope, health,
and healing.

Mission Priority International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit mobilizing followers of Christ to bring hope, health, and healing, one life, one community, one nation at a time. I serve as founder and strategic director.

Its work includes KenyaStrong, a presidential public-private partnership calling Kenyan men to lead with character and compassion, addressing maternal mortality through family health advocacy at a national scale; WholePath, bringing evidence-based biblical health solutions to Americans suffering preventable chronic disease; and gospel campaigns across East Africa.

Practice

Three disciplines,
one way of working.

I

Communications

Executive and change communications, editorial and publishing, brand, media relations, and the harder conversations: crisis, sensitive announcements, and helping leaders say difficult things well.

II

Strategy

Organizational strategy and the systems that make it real. Government and institutional partnership, including work with the executive offices of two national governments.

III

Technology

Through Intelligent Design Systems, more than two decades of research-driven work in operations, process, data, and applied AI, for clients who had already tried the obvious answers.

Speaking, workshops, and training on leadership and organizational development, mission and mission strategy, discipleship, and biblical themes. Available for conferences, staff development, and preaching engagements.

Foundations

Why the work is
done this way.

Success in communication, strategy, and even technical and business innovation demands a genuine ability to understand and connect with people, and to connect people with purpose. I am successful working with people of any faith, or no faith, because I understand that we all have an authentic mission. Helping people and organizations to achieve it is my calling, and I am grateful to have had the opportunities and success I have enjoyed up to this moment.

My wife and I raised six children, and we continue to support others we have come to call our own in several countries. I made plenty of mistakes, and benefited from all of the corresponding lessons. Much of what I know about people, and about leading them, I learned from home.
